Manufacturing Process

Delivery Conditions

·Solution Annealed (SA): Tubes are heat-treated at 1040–1150°C and rapidly cooled to restore ductility, enhance corrosion resistance, and eliminate residual stresses. This is the standard condition for ASTM A269 tubes, ensuring optimal mechanical properties for cylinders and rollers.
·Bright Annealed (BA): Tubes are annealed in a controlled atmosphere (e.g., hydrogen) to produce a bright, reflective surface. This condition is ideal for sanitary applications (e.g., food processing conveyor rollers) or aesthetic components, maintaining similar mechanical properties to solution annealing.
·Pickled: Tubes are chemically treated to remove scale and impurities, resulting in a matte finish. This condition is suitable for applications where corrosion resistance is critical but a polished surface is not required (e.g., hydraulic cylinders in chemical plants).
·Polished: Tubes undergo mechanical polishing (e.g., to 180–320 grit) for a smooth, mirror-like finish, ideal for high-purity or decorative applications. Mechanical properties remain consistent with solution-annealed conditions, but surface smoothness enhances performance in conveyor rollers.

 Grade Descriptions

·TP304 (ASTM A269): An austenitic stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance and formability, ideal for general-purpose applications in food processing, chemical, and architectural industries. Its higher carbon content (compared to TP316L) offers slightly better strength.

·TP316L (ASTM A269): A low-carbon, molybdenum-alloyed austenitic stainless steel, offering superior corrosion resistance in chloride-rich environments. Its low carbon content minimizes carbide precipitation during welding, making it perfect for pharmaceutical, marine, and chemical applications.
